| A Cocker Spaniel for my 2nd birthday began a life-long love of animals. During my childhood I lived with dogs, cats, and horses and from the earliest years, loved sketching and painting animals. During my college years I was very fortunate to have studied with the well-known artist and teacher, Helen Fisher, who taught me the technical aspects of painting while encouraging individual creativity. Through the last thirty years I have been commissioned by colleges and corporations as well as individuals for painting in a variety of subjects. Animal portraits have always been my first love and now I am only doing dogs, cats, and horses. In addition to painting, since 1973 I have owned, trained, and shown Dalmatians, Pointers, and Siberian Huskies and shown some of the top-winning Dalmatians in both the United States and Europe. Currently I am an American Kennel Club (AKC) approved dog show judge and have judged at shows in England and Italy as well as throughout the United States. I was commissioned by both the American Pointer Club and the Dalmatian Club of America to do all the technical drawings for their Illustrated Standards which are published booklets used as a learning tool for future judges and new owners. |
